Ice climbing Camp
in Barskoon

February 3-9
2025
About the Camp
Barskoon Gorge is located on the southern coast of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.
The gorge is famous for its waterfalls. The most famous are “Tears of a Leopard”, “Beard of an Aksakal”, “Chalice of Manas” and others. In winter they freeze, forming ice cascades from simple to difficult ones with ice “curtains” and columns.

The program will be interesting for people with any ice-climbing level.

We will start with simple routes, climb with a top rope, learn how to work with crampons and ice tools, set ice screws, make Abalakov's threads (V-thread/A-thread) for abseiling. Then we'll move on to something more complex.
