About the program

If you want to try rock climbing outdoors, this program is for you. You’ll learn the basics of rock climbing technique and climb your first routes on real rock.

The rock climbing season in Almaty runs from late March to November. In spring and autumn, we climb in the steppe on the Tamgaly Tas rocks near the Ili River. In summer it becomes too hot there, so we head to the mountains — Tuyuk-Su or Butakovskiy Waterfall. We will choose a location for the program based on the current season and weather conditions.

Climbing with NewClimb was the highlight of our time in Kazakhstan. We reached out last minute to book a day trip and we ended up with one of the best climbing experiences of our lives. Konstantin is an awesome guide! He is hands on when you need assistance, but will also points you to fun routes when you just want to do your own thing. He took us to a beautiful alpine gorge to climb and the views at the top of the routes were stunning. He took the time to coach Katelyn up her first multipitch and she had a blast. If you are considering an outing with NewClimb you should 100% book it! I promise you will have the experience of a lifetime!

I joined Konstantin for a 4 day rock climbing camp around Almaty, followed by a week long personal mountaineering course in Ala-Archa.

The climbing camp was extremely fun; we managed to visit three different crags. Despite the fact that participants came from vastly different experience levels, Konstantin managed to give each of us personal attention—we each managed to climb routes that were suited to our interests and/or skill levels.

The mountaineering course was also incredibly enriching. We covered rope teams, self- and partner resue techniques, building trad anchors, ice anchors and crampon techniques for walking on glaciers. We also managed to summit a technical peak to put these skills into use, as well as ice climb. I felt extremely safe theoughout the entire course as well.

Overall, this was an immensely educational course and I benefitted a lot from the personal coaching and guidance!

Kostia and Gulnaz took me to Butakovskiy Waterfall for a one-day rock climbing trip. It’s a beautiful spot that they’ve bolted, reached after a short scenic walk. They were so patient and encouraging, helping me overcome my fear of lead climbing after five years not being able to climb other than top rope ! We practised falling, and by the end of the day I managed to complete a whole route! Lovely company and excellent guides. I would definitely recommend New Climbing Pro. Thank you both, I had a great day.
    I hope we meet again!

Thank you for being my amazing guide and belayer, Gulnaz ❤️❤️ I had a great experience rock climbing at Butakovskiy Waterfall with you.

We started with an hour-long hike to the waterfall, which was lovely with taiga forest along the way (also enjoy rasberry 😋😋)

The climbing itself was scary (of course hahaa) especially for those mostly do bouldering and climbing indoor like me. I gave up the 5c lead cuz I feel scary, can not pass through my scary feeling, but luckily I could send the 6a top rope tho with your support effort, I really appreciate it ^^

Thank you and hope to seeing you in Kazakhstan one day soon ❤️
